  • Is there a way to make yourself have a false awakening?
Because I was thinking I could get in a habit of reality checking everytime I wake up and them make myself have a false awakening so then by habit I would reality check and become lucid.
Inducing lucid dreams through false awakenings is actually very difficult because the false awakenings seem so real. Even if you have multiple false awakenings in a row, which is EXTREMELY disconcerting, you can still fail to actually realize you're still in a dream.

It took me some time to learn to turn realistic false awakenings into lucid dreams. It mainly comes through practice - I make a habit of doing reality checks as soon as I wake up and at key points throughout my day 鈥 including at least two during my morning routine. This means I'm more likely to notice I'm dreaming during false awakenings.
It would be impossible to make yourself have a false awakening, because to have a FA you need to believe you have woken up.... but because you are forcing yourself to have one, you know you are dreaming hence its more an awakening in your bed, than an FA.:
    Does that make sense?
    wake up a lot? :/

    no its impossible.
Read my Dream Journal, use the timer method I am getting multiple false awakenings each morning now. So far I have just used visualisation on each awakening and if it's a FA I just belive that I have WILDED, but if it isn't I WILD =) But I am going to start using reality checks now, because that seems more reliable.
I notice I have more false awakenings when I switch my place of sleep.  Like from the couch to the bed, etc...
Through my experiment with many people, The FILD method consistently produces false awakening. Especially if you use a variant of it -- instead of physically moving your fingers; IMAGINE the movements! The advantage of this is that it will enable you to recognize when you have a false awakening -- your fingers will start moving freely in a very convincing fashion. When this happens you know you are having a false awakening. Another advantage is that it will less likely to keep you awake, unlike the original FILD technique.
I've had most of my FAs from simply believing that I was going to wake up. If you're lucid and feel the dream ending, affirm out loud that "I'm waking up now and will end up in my own bed". I tried this once and it worked, probably because the dream tends to change based on my expectations. If you do this, it might fabricate a new dream that only looks like you've woken up, resulting in a FA. It's also good to get into RCing and questioning if you're awake or asleep right when you get out of bed or go to sleep at night. At these times you're often groggy and might not 'care' to do an RC at the moment, but lethargy like that is also a classic sign that you might be dreaming. Just don't make a habit out of it; if you start doing it passively, you'll end up simply doing the motions in your dreams. Instead, be mindful as you RC.
This may not make much sense, but a few day's ago I did the following: I realized I was dreaming, but I also realized the dream was unrealistic, even after rubbing my hands and was quite a bit too dark vibe feeling I could not control anything, like I perceived the nightmare quality of it.  Right then I decided I'd try somethin I only thought of trying, screw over my sub par lucid dream by purposely doing everything wrong so I could wake up or have a false awaking while trying to hold on to realizing I'm dreaming.  I did the following, screamed I'm so excited. Went up to any dream charter I saw and said this is a dream! you are not real ha, I made you! They start looking at me like I'm a freak, then I started buzzing, and it was sort of flashing. I started feeling two bodies, and was in my bed. Could have been a false, but I did indeed carry over my realization of being lucid, and stayed still. I realized to calm down from my purposely induced spastic feelings and try to deild back, or wild back. Got some mad vibes and felt the split pretty quickly, and rode into a new dream, it wasn't the best but better than the first one, was this like a reverse wild or something?    It was way cool.
I think I had one yesterday. I woke up in a different area but assumed I was napping. I questioned a few things but didn't follow through to think it was a dream.
is it bad to tell dream characters your dreaming?

Not really, it's often quite humorous, try it and post results. Just don't be rude to them
