主题:Need Help Attaining Lucidity More FrequentlyHi, so i have been keeping a dream journal and my dream recall is pretty good and im practicing all day awareness and reality checks here and there but my question is how can i have more frequent lucid dreams? because if i stop practising i will have an LD every 2 months or so but when im trying i will have the odd few more but i want to know how i can boost this up to hopefully once a week or even whenever i want to (once a night) Thanks
From my experience, based on my first years of search for the same thing, all I can say is:
The best way to lucid dream frequently is to not look for that in the first place.
Learning to do anything is really easy in theory, that applies to lucid dreaming too. All you need to do is to practise and take action until you are experienced. Fail and learn from that and keep taking action. Failures and overcoming obstacles is what will make you grow.
So all you have to do to learn to lucid dream is to pick a technique, doesn't matter which, and just practise until you get a lucid dream.
The problem with this however is that your ego can't handle this fact. You want immediate result and since your belief and expectation is that this isn't going to happen, it simply wont. So we need to find a balance between consistent effort and practise and your ego.
And that is in my experience found when you find the practise enjoyable, which is done by finding a lucd dreaming technique you find fun to practise.
Personally I also like to find a technique that satisfies me intellectually, I used to for example find different "sciences" about the brain like that the aminergic system (the chemical system of the brain that governs critical thinking.) was lowered in activity during REM sleep and that waking up several times would make it increase and therefore make me critical in my dreams which would make me lucid.
So find a technique that you enjoy to practise, so that the process of trial and error required for learning isn't as much of a pain for your ego.
What I am trying to explain is that when you focus on the practise itself rather than the result, you will get the result.
"If you look for result you will not change, but if you look for change you will get result".
Keep practicing and think positive, it can take a while to get there, but eventually you will reach it. In meanwhile, like Mastermind said, enjoy the practice and the lucid dreams you are having.
If you have time though, you can try WBTB and naps, WBTB can help increasing awareness in dreams and naps are golden for lucid dreaming overall.
I tried CosmicIrons SSILD and think it has real merit. I am fairly experienced having had over 125 LDs and usually LD once or twice a week. Tried SSILD and had a semi-lucid the first night I tried it...two days after last lucid. Not definitive but did have a lot of vivid dreams as well as an LD. The technique makes sense and felt right for me. I like having something intentional to do that indirectly affects dreaming...too direct and it becomes self will which usually doesnt work.
