• 主题:Need Help With Fild
  • Last night, I tried to FILD. I fell asleep a little past 11:30 PM, and woke up with an alarm at 4:00 AM. I sat up in bed, then realized it wasn't morning yet and laid back down. I thought about FILDing for a bit, then as I felt drowsier I tried it out. I started moving my fingers, just barely, and as I did I felt like my body started vibrating back and forth. It was a really weird experience, but I felt the pillow below me and kept going after thirty seconds.

About five minutes later, I did a reality check, but nothing had happened. I was still awake.

Does anybody have any insight as to why I might have FaILeD? I know that during a normal WILD there is a swallowing reflex you have to stop, and I felt like I had to swallow my saliva halfway through the FILD attempt. Does that affect your FILD too? And did the vibrating sensation happen because I was starting to go into the dream?
FILD works by carrying the physical action into your dreams or any subsequent FAs. Therefore it is better for you to enter sleep quickly. By trying to stay perfectly still you will likely induce sleep paralysis, which turns the exercise into an entirely different technique and destroys the purpose of FILD. Worse, it can simply cause tension and keep you awake. My suggestion is to do FILD in a relaxed manner and try to stay comfortable.
So you are saying that I should try not to focus on anything?
Yes. Stay relaxed just like how you'd sleep normally. Just give enough focus to the movement of your finger, but don't focus it too much so you can't fall asleep.
FILD shouldnt take 5 minutes.FILD is my fav technique and its so easy(compared to other techniques) to do you just have to grasp when to start and how sleepy you should be.Imo FILD works best when you wake up randomly during the night so dont miss those chances. You should probably read FILD guides from a couple more sources so you get when and how to do it better.
Using an alarm to create a WBTB scenario was definitely a mistake I found online today. I found that people say they can wake themselves up mentally at a certain time during the night. I'll have to try that out. Thanks for your input. :)
