主题:How To Remain Focus During The CyclesLast night I tried SSILD after I woke up from my alarm and used the bathroom. When I did the cycles, I had a really hard time focusing on my senses, especially touch and my mind wandered a lot. I was wondering, how does one remain focused?
You don't.
I think that in this method wandering mind, losing your senses [I'm not talking about going insane; does this phrase: 'losing your senses' always means going insane?] and eventually falling asleep while doing cycles is desirable. Please someone correct me if I'm wrong.
i think its hard going to sleep while doing the cycles at least for me the way i do it its like the tutorial i do 5-6 quick cycles then do 3-4 slow cycles and then i try to go to sleep in the past my biggest mistake was trying to fall a sleep during the cycles because i didn't read the tutorial carefully i was loosing sleep latter to find out you just go to sleep like normal after doing the cycles it worked 3 times in a row like this for me
I do the cycles and then fall asleep, like the tutorial says
Yes, going to sleep normally means you do whatever you normally do to fall asleep. It doesn't matter if you count sheeps or role play. :)
I don't try to sleep during the cycles. Only after like the guide says. My issue is during the cycles, I have trouble focusing on my senses, any pointers?
You don't really need to focus that much. Just pay attention to them should suffice. One easy to do it is to imagine the senses being different axes. For example, the hearing being the x, the touch being the y, and the sight being on the z axis. Then you would simple direct/scan your attention along these axes. While doing that, you should also make sure you don't try too hard to force things to happen. If you do see, hear or feel things that's great; otherwise just complete the gestures and go to sleep.
Btw, what should you do if you wake up and you are so tired? Last night, I did that and was so tired that I tried to rush through SSILD and it didn't work
You should simply sleep and forget about lucid dreaming all together. Lucid dreaming can be tiring, and when you are tired you'd better get more sleep first.
Thanks but I was wondering, how should one wake themselves up?
Via alarm, intentions, or simply the urge to visit the bathroom (my case always, LOL) If you use alarm, make sure you wake up well rested, but drowsy
One should stay up for like 5 mins correct?
Not necessarily so, but you can start from that and adjust the time to suit yourself.
