主题:How Close To Performning A Proper Wild Am I ? Ld4AllHi LD4all.
During the latest couple of weeks, I've gained some interest in Lucid dreaming again. Two days ago, I had a lucid dream, and with that kept in mind, I went to bed yesterday with the intention of having another one. Hopefully, a longer one.
As I've practised WBTB before with varying results, I decided to try it. I set the alarm to ring around 4h30 minutes after going to sleep. Woke up, wrote down the fragments of a not so vivid dream I had, took a glass of water.Returned to bed 15 minutes after the alarm set off.
I had the intention of performing a proper WILD. A bit naive, perhaps. Nontheless, I had some results that I wanted to share with you.
Tried to get as comfortable as possible, since I am well aware of the fact that movement is a definitive gamebreaker when it comes to WILDing. Closed my eyes, and started to imagine how Lucidity feels like, and what I wanted to do. A couple of minutes later, my legs went numb. Half a minute later or so, my arms did the same. Large spots of colours went from one side to the other before my eyes. The feeling were very much like when you look at the sun with closed eyes. These colours moved backwards, forwards, and sideways until more defined objects appeared. I could'nt tell what it was, but four or five of them entered my sight only to dissapear milliseconds later.
Right now, I have big troubles keeping my eyes closed. My pulse is somewhat higher than it uses to be, and my eyelids are almost vibrating. Spirals of what looked very much like faces (or at least facial structures) created spirals, and spun around fast. No more objects, just these spirals. I desperately tried to hang on to this state of mind, since I felt that I could now be close to carrying through a WILD. My eyelids kept vibrating though, and eventually everything went black. I started over, experienced the exact same events two more times. I gave up after this, falling asleep. (I actually got lucid later, for a brief second where I realised that I could breathe through a blocked nose - amazing feeling, by the way).
The question is, how close to a successful WILD attempt did I get?
Even though the experience might differ between people, I hope and ly believe that some of you more experienced WILDers could aknowledge, and perhaps even identify yourself in the events of my description.
On a sidenote, how to deel with the eyelid problem? Really don't know how to keep em closed. Happens every time.
Thanks in advance,
Kind regards,
DC
I'd say you came THAT close to success. The eye lid vibration experience is common. In most case it is not real, but rather an illusion. And the more you are focused on that, the more severe it gets, to the point you really DO open your real eyes. One way to work around this is to focus on the images instead of your eye lids. Pay closer attention, with curiosity, to the imagery. Investigate them, but DO NOT talk to yourselves. Another way is to direct attention to your body. For example, try to move your fingers without using muscle, or imagine spinning your body. Once you start moving (not physically but feels just like that), you can do some simple reality check such as pinching the nose. If it works, then simply stand up and go on enjoying your OBE or LD.
You were on the most climatic and trickiest part of WILD.
Hypnogogic Imagery.
I'm not a WILDer, so I can't give much detail about it, because it will biases your judgement.
Let's just say you had to ignore it while * simultaneously* noting it.
Current LD goal(s): Meditate for an hour in a dream

Funny you'd say that, because that's exactly what I did. Or sort of. I tried to move my "dreamhands", something that got me lucid a while ago. I felt it. Imagined that I grabbed a fruit, and touched it. Then my eyelids kept opening up though. Going to try to not care as much tonight!
Thanks for your answers, guys. Much appreciated.
