  • Hy cosmic.iron! I'm very glad that you joined this forum, I hope you'll share as much knowledge as possible!    I just want to learn!

As I was reading your post it reminded me on FILD tech and I wanted to ask you but I saw in later posts that you mention some similarities so I guess that my guess was a good guess!

Ok, I like this tech a lot in theoretical way[I yet have to try it] because I do wake up for WBTB every night and my primary tech is WILD, but I combine it with few other techs and I agree with you on the relaxation topic...

So this tech won't vary a lot from my previous tech that I use and I gave myself at least a week to see if new tech works at all but from what I've read it should start to work much faster. So I will keep my progress for next 7 days in this topic in next post.

Thank you for sharing this and welcome!

So here I will post my progress from last night and next 6 days!

    1st night:

I went to bed around 11pm and set an alarm at 3:20am. By some of my calculations my next REM stage should be around 3:30 but this time I didn't get up for WBTB, I just thought that I will perform tech and go to sleep.

Well, I was very tired and I think that my first mistake was setting alarm, it waked me too much but I wasn't sure if I could wake up using autosuggestion because I was very tired so alarm was needed. Once when I was up I felt that I was to awake but I did the tech anyways. After a few repetitions I was getting awake even more. Which takes me to my second mistake which was that I was laying on my back. The story is pretty the same as mattias described his night. Then after some time I rolled over but I was just to awake and I started switching positions and everything went bad! From that point I don't remember almost any dream but my DR is bad anyways...

Now I know my first few mistakes and I will try to avoid them this night. If you have any more advices please feel free to share them!

    2nd night:

Nothing, just a few fragments of one dream and that's it. I'm putting this tech and quest on hold because my DR is a mess and there is no foundation to trying this without decent DR. When things change I will post here again... But I think I will try this tech whenever I get up for WBTB and if I get some results I will post...

    3rd night:

Success. I've done SILD after 8 hours of sleep, only one repetition and after 10 hours I did SILD again with 3 or 4 repetitions and I had a lucid dream! After that one I did chaining and had another one!

Ok, tnx man. I'll try to be as much relaxed as possible and this time I'll try it on my side where I'm most comfortable as you already suggested!

    Success!

3rd night or better to say morning was a success! Ok, here's the story:

I wasn't actually going for WBTB because like I said in post where I was keeping my progress that I need to work on my DR so my first awakening was around 6 am and I was awake only a minute or so and then I did only one repetition of SILD. Next awakening was around 8:30am and then I did like 3 or 4 repetitions but also without waking up entirely or getting up.

After that I started to hear voices, that was very close to a WILD but I just let myself to fall asleep. Next thing I know I was looking at my bedroom window, it was a classical FA, it was so realistic but again I heard some voices but I knew that this can't be true because I was alone in the house and on my window I saw this. Then I knew for sure that this was a dream because I can only see a sky and part of the roof from my bed where I was laying. Then I did a RC and I had 7 fingers and the story goes on...

After that LD I awake again but then I thought I could just  chain this dream with another so I remain still and I just let myself to fall asleep and I was again in another LD.

So I have one question. Even though SILD is very similar to WILD until the part where you fall asleep one thing I don't understand. You said that by doing SILD we prepare ourselves to have LD later... How exactly we prepare ourselves?! My initial thought was similar to situation where WILD fails, we were still keeping some level of consciousness on our body sensations or hearing and then we could realize that what happened next is a dream. But in SILD we fall asleep very fast so what kind of preparation do we actually do by doing SILD!?

Oh and it WORKS! Thanks man!

    Haha, who would say...

Well I'm glad too. I was just surprised because I can't think any real reason why this should work... Like I said I would understand if it was a WILD in question but this...

Ahh it works and that's what matters, happy dreaming!

That was DILD which was caused by being awake and trying WILD before. You kept pretty high conscious level while doing WILD and then you quit. After that you fall asleep but your brain is still active from trying WILD plus you did this dialog in your head while falling asleep, which rise your consciousness a little bit more and that was carried in a dream.

If you knew that it was a dream from the first second you entered a dream then it would be WILD, but you fall asleep a little bit early then you should and you didn't keep that awareness on until entering the dream. So you started the dream but you had a conscious mind and that's why you realized that this was a dream.

I know that I made this a little bit messy but that's just how it is.

Also you can learn a lot from this experience. You can learn how to do WILD. You were obviously doing something that was keeping you too much awake. Try to realize what you did wrong and in next attempt you will have more success in WILD of course!

    Good luck!

Yes, sometimes interacting with hallucinations is difficult and can ruin the SP process. Better thing is to let them to form in bigger picture then try to interact or when you certain that everything you see is a dream.

It takes some time and experimenting with this.

It doesn't have to be prerequisite but that's just normal way of things. If you do WILD completely you will most definitely experience some things from SP, or you may not it's very different from person to person! I usually don't experience heavy hallucinations, I more rely on my body sensations like vibration and heaviness of the body...

And there is a good chance that you will not experience real SP meaning that you will not be able to move at all but hallucinations are very common!

Yes, you can read thousands of guides and get thousands advices but if you don't experiment and adjust those guides and advices to yourself then there is no point!
